We all SAND together

Thursday 2nd May 2024, 2pm – 5pm Upstairs at Palmers

Details still to be confirmed but we need your help to move things along!

Pop into to this drop-in session in Shrewsbury to help out with the development of a load of resources. For example – have a look at leaflets and films which are being made to explain how groups can be more inclusive – this may be about the questions they ask, the language they use, the examples they share – would they work for you? Would they work for someone less confident than you? Let us know.

Find out more about the various things that can help us as we get older – what are the housing options if we need to downsize, move into town, have things on one level? What if we need a bit of extra help or home maintenance stresses us out? What on earth is a Lasting Power of Attorney and what are the circumstances when it might be a good idea to have one? What are the implications of not having one? Take this opportunity to ask questions over a cup of tea.

Check back for more details but do keep the date in your diary!

Dementia Information Day

Hosted by Radfield Home Care (i.e. this is  not ‘our’ event but we shall be there!)

17th May 2024 10am – 3pm at Shrewsbury Town Football Ground, Montgomery Waters Meadow, Oteley Road, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ST.

The event has been organised to provide information and support to those living with dementia, their families and carers.

If you have any questions, concerns about or interest in Dementia, then come along to this FREE Information Day which brings together a whole load of local agencies working in some way to support people with dementia and their carers.

Radfield Home Care has taken it upon themselves to organise this event to fill a gap in local knowledge and it is well worth the time and trouble to come along if you have any experiences or connection at all with dementia. This is the second time they have hosted this valuable event and we certainly found it really interesting last year.

NB. Radfield Home Care as been working with SAND to EMBRACE A Culture of Inclusion since March 2022.

The Dementia Support Information Day is a fantastic opportunity for those affected by dementia to access the advice and assistance they need. If you would like further information about the event or Radfield Home Care’s services, please call Karen Corcoran on 01743 245 555 or email
